Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan – Yahrtzeit 14 Shevat – Video Interview

Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan
Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan

Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan (1935-1983) was a prolific writer on Judaism and was an outstanding educator in the United States. He is most known for his outstanding works and translations in Jewish mysticism. He brought Torah to the beginner, showing us all how we can tap into the mystical side of Judaism.

He single-handedly translated the Chumash, adding footnotes – calling his work “The Living Torah”. His translation has been used in countless homes and makes the Torah easy to understand. His works on Jewish mysticism include teaching us how to meditate according to an authentic Jewish approach. He was the first to translate sections from some of the major works in Kabbalah as well as being the first to translate the works of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.

He died on 14 Shevat at the young age of just 48. Below is a rare interview captured on film – for us to see him speaking and sharing his thoughts on authentic Kabbalah. For more information about Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, see the entry for Aryeh Kaplan in the Wikipedia.
