A Week of Tragedies for the Jewish People – Heroes and Heroines

Lori Gilbert Kaye

The Jewish people have experienced tremendous tragedy over the past week. While many are aware of the major attack in the Chabad synagogue in Poway, many are not aware that during the week there were yet another two attacks – both totally unprovoked – and upon emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

I have compiled a few videos below for the interested reader to spend some time watching more about the Poway attack and the real heroes and heroine of this story.

Shaarei Kedushah – The Gates of Holiness – Lesson 3 Chapter 3 – The Path to Divine Inspiration

Sunset

In Lesson 3 of this remarkable work of Rabbi Chaim Vital – the Shaarei Kedushah – we take a leap (perhaps a hint to the process of moving from the physical world to the spiritual – that sometimes we need to make a quantum jump!) and branch off from Chapter 1 to Chapter 3. We’ll be returning shortly to Chapter 1 – but the purpose of this jump is to show the viewer (the reader) what lies in store for those who wish to pursue the roads to holiness.

The Elephant and The Dog (Video) – An Inspirational Story

In today’s busy world of “everything must be done now!” there’s hardly a moment to ever consider who we are! We are very rarely able to reflect on ourselves. It seems like so many things are happening to others so quickly while we’re the one’s being left behind! Often, we seem like the laughing stock of everyone else!

The Little Leaf (Video) – A Lesson in Divine Providence

Leaf

Divine Providence – Hashgachah Pratis – is defined as the concept that God is active in all of creation all the time. He monitors every single thing at every single moment. He is aware of every single thing at every single moment. He knows what everything is doing at every single moment and sustains that thing (or person etc.) at every single moment. Nothing happens by chance. Everything is orchestrated from Above – save for man’s free choice which he is given as a gift by the Creator to use however he wishes to use it.

How We Help Each Other – A True Miraculous Story by Rabbi David Bensousan

Jewish Cemetery

There’s a rule in the mystery of the cosmos… Some call it karma. It’s all about the circle of life. It’s about the mystery of how we interact with each other. The circle works this way: God wants a world of give and take. Well – actually He wants a world of give. The only problem is that if there is nobody available to take, then there can be no giving. Giving can only take place in a world where someone lacks…

Siyum Yeshivas Iyun Halachah – and a Great Lesson in Humilty

Books

Those who know me know how much I love books. There’s something soul-like in every book one reads. Of course, reading a book is also getting a glimpse into the soul of the author. One has the opportunity to gain in just one book – what might have taken the author tens of years to acquire. It is an incredible experience to consider that someone else has put years into achieving a goal which can now be gained by someone else in a few hours.
