In today’s busy world of “everything must be done now!” there’s hardly a moment to ever consider who we are! We are very rarely able to reflect on ourselves. It seems like so many things are happening to others so quickly while we’re the one’s being left behind! Often, we seem like the laughing stock of everyone else!
We grow up and see our friends marrying early, becoming parents before they’re 22, and grandparents already in their mid forties! We wonder why we’ve been left behind! Sometimes we see those same friends obtaining their own homes just after marriage, driving two cars, and seeming to just take care of day to day things. They have the clothes they need. They’re always in a brand new condition – probably because they’ve just been bought for the new season! Their shopping trolleys contain thousands of whatever currency they buy in, in food and other necessities. We turn to ourselves even in our forties and beyond, and still, there’s no house. No children. No full trolleys. Sometimes, it’s just like there’s just a massive pile of debts and not even anything to show for them!
These things can bring on great despair. How can we ever get ourselves out of seeing ourselves in this way? There’s a beautiful story about an elephant and a dog who get together at the time they fall pregnant. Things seem to be equal. It’s like a world of equality. But time moves on, and the dog and elephant seem to part ways – with each of them ending up living completely different lives!
It’s a beautiful story – and if you haven’t heard it before – do watch the video clip I have put together personally. It certainly meant a lot to me. You see… we’re all very different from each other, no matter how similar things seem to be. We’re not the same. We have to be careful not to judge ourselves by others, their standards and their lives. Who knows what our destinies are and if perhaps the one who lacks today, may well produce something greater than the one who has had everything come to them so quickly. Yes, it’s a personal story of my own, but I share it with those who can relate.

For those who wonder who could have come up with the idea of the elephant and dog meeting and the conversation that took place – wonder no more! It seems that elephants and dogs have a lot to keep them being the best of friends! No wonder this conversation took place between an elephant and a dog – they really can get by together so well. Perhaps it’s another lesson for all the “elephants” and “dogs” out there. It’s time to stick together. While one person’s path may seem to be on the high-road and the other’s on the low-road, it’s time to see the need to stick together – because that for sure brings on the greatest of friendships!
