Conversion to Judaism
Are you exploring Judaism, already working toward an Orthodox conversion, or newly Jewish and looking for greater clarity and confidence? You do not have to navigate every question alone.
Here you can find serious Torah learning, patient guidance and personal support — while respecting the proper Orthodox conversion process and the authority of your guiding rabbi and Beit Din.
But it does take the sincere seeker seriously.
Perhaps Something Has Been Drawing You Toward Judaism
For some people, the journey begins with a question. For others, it begins with a deep sense that there is something in Torah they need to understand.
There are people who feel a genuine pull toward Judaism — not out of rebellion or convenience, but out of a sincere desire to know the One G-d and to live according to His will.
Some are only beginning to explore. Some are already in a formal conversion programme. Others have recently become Jewish and are still finding their footing.
but unsure where you belong.
but overwhelmed by how much there is to know.
and unsure whom to trust or where to turn.
but sometimes feeling alone on the journey.
If you wish to approach Judaism with honesty, patience and respect for Torah, you are welcome here.
Avraham — The First Seeker of the One G-d
Avraham, the first Jew, grew up in a world immersed in idolatry. His father, Terach, sold idols to those who believed in the powers of stone, wood and metal.
Yet Avraham looked at the world with honesty and wonder. He observed creation and understood that the sun, moon and forces of nature could not themselves be ultimate. There must be One who governs all — the One G-d who created heaven and earth.
His discovery involved questioning, searching and refusing to accept falsehood merely because it was familiar.
Many people who find themselves drawn toward Judaism today recognize something of that search within themselves.
How Does Judaism View Conversion?
Judaism does not teach that every human being must become Jewish. A non-Jew does not need to convert simply in order to have a meaningful relationship with G-d.
The Torah teaches that humanity has responsibilities before G-d, including the Seven Mitzvot of Bnei Noach. For this reason, Judaism does not actively seek converts and does not encourage conversion lightly.
When a person develops a deep and enduring commitment to become part of the Jewish people and to live according to Torah and mitzvot, Judaism provides a path — but asks that it be entered with seriousness, preparation and proper guidance.
This Is a Process — Not a Shortcut
Conversion involves much more than acquiring information. It is preparation for an entirely Jewish way of life.
What Is Required?
Torah & Mitzvot
Orthodox conversion requires a sincere acceptance of Torah and mitzvot and a commitment to living an observant Jewish life.
Serious Learning
The prospective convert needs to acquire substantial knowledge of Jewish law, practice, belief and everyday Jewish living.
Jewish Community
Judaism is lived, not merely studied. Integration into an observant Jewish community is an important part of the process.
Rabbi & Beit Din
The conversion must proceed under appropriate Orthodox rabbinic supervision and ultimately through an accepted Beit Din.
Shortcuts and conversion paths outside accepted halachic standards can create painful complications later — sometimes affecting not only the individual but future generations.
A journey this important deserves to be walked carefully.
What I Can — and Cannot — Offer
I offer additional Torah teaching, personal guidance and structured learning for sincere students exploring Judaism and for those already participating in a recognized Orthodox conversion process.
I do not replace your converting rabbi or Beit Din, and I do not provide an independent or online conversion.
I can help you learn Torah, understand halacha, work through questions, strengthen your knowledge and receive support along the way.
Where a student is already in a conversion programme, ongoing learning should take place with the awareness and approval of the guiding rabbi.
Who Is This Guidance For?
🌱 Still Exploring?
Perhaps you have not yet entered a formal conversion programme. You may simply need a knowledgeable Torah teacher with whom you can discuss your questions and understand what Orthodox conversion actually involves.
I can help you gain clarity and determine sensible next steps without pretending that exploratory learning itself constitutes a conversion.
📚 Already in a Programme?
If you are already working with an accepted Orthodox rabbi or Beit Din, I can provide additional structured Torah learning appropriate to your stage.
- Serious Torah learning
- Clear explanations of halacha
- Patient answers to difficult questions
- Learning coordinated with your conversion journey
What Might We Study Together?
Lessons are tailored to your level, background and the requirements of your conversion programme.
For men, study may also include the practical laws of Tefillin and Tzitzit.
Before You Convert: Could You Already Be Jewish?
This is an important question that should sometimes be investigated before beginning a conversion process.
According to Jewish law, Jewish identity follows the maternal line. If a person’s mother is Jewish according to halacha, the person is Jewish regardless of personal belief or level of observance.
Occasionally, someone who believes that conversion is necessary discovers Jewish ancestry through the maternal line.
Do not make this determination on your own. Family history and documentation should be reviewed carefully by a knowledgeable Orthodox rabbi before any conclusion is reached.
