A Place to Finally Put Down Roots.
For many years, we have dreamed of something very simple: a home of our own in Jerusalem.
A place where we can finally put down our bags, unpack our Torah library, and know that we are home.
This is not simply a dream about walls, windows or property. It is a dream about stability — a permanent base from which we can continue teaching Torah, writing, creating, guiding others and sharing the values of Torah and lovingkindness that have shaped our lives.
And it is also something very personal: the hope that after years of renting and moving, we can finally establish a home of our own in Jerusalem.
💙 Our Story
For decades, Torah, Eretz Yisrael and helping others have stood at the centre of our lives.
Through Chessed Ve’Emet, we have tried to use whatever resources we have had to teach Torah, help people grow in their Jewish lives, support new Olim, write and publish Torah material, teach students locally and around the world, guide individuals personally, and find practical ways of bringing more kindness into the lives of others.
We did not begin with substantial financial backing. Much of what we built began simply with an idea, a computer, a collection of Torah books, and the desire to do something worthwhile.
Through all of this, however, there has been one thing we have never had:
A permanent home of our own.
📦 Moving, Starting Again — and Moving Again
Our life in Israel has included more moves than we ever imagined. Our first year of Aliyah alone involved repeated moves, and over the years we have also experienced some extremely difficult rental conditions.
But perhaps the hardest part has simply been the instability itself.
Anyone who has moved home knows what it involves: packing, movers, expenses, unpacking, learning a new neighbourhood, adjusting to a new community, rebuilding routines — and trying to settle into life again.
Then, when another move comes, everything begins again.
For us, home is also where much of our work takes place. It is where Torah lessons are prepared and taught, books and articles are written, videos and educational material are created, and much of the work of Chessed Ve’Emet takes place.
Yet through the moves and uncertainty, the work continued.
The Torah lessons continued.
The writing continued.
The books continued.
The videos continued.
The guidance and chessed continued.
We have tried to build with whatever we had, wherever we happened to be.
🌿 Now We Want to Plant Roots
We are not looking for a palace.
We are looking for a comfortable, permanent Jewish home in Jerusalem with sufficient room to live, work, house our Torah library, teach, create and continue developing the work to which we have devoted ourselves.
We dream of a home filled with Torah books. A home in which Torah can be studied and taught. A home from which online lessons and videos can reach people around the world. A home in which books can continue to be written, students and friends can be welcomed, and Jewish life can flourish.
A place where we can live with greater stability. A place where we no longer have to wonder when everything will next need to be packed into boxes. A place where, after years of renting and moving, we can finally put down roots in Jerusalem.
🕊️ Why a Permanent Home Matters
A permanent home offers something that is difficult to measure simply in square metres:
Stability.
It means being able to plan years ahead rather than from lease to lease. It means investing time, energy and resources into creating rather than repeatedly relocating. It means knowing where our Torah library belongs.
And it means having a stable base for our teaching, writing, videos, guidance and other projects — while finally having somewhere in Jerusalem that we can simply call home.
It is about having a foundation.
🏠 The Financial Reality
This is where our dream encounters an enormous practical challenge.
Property in Jerusalem is extraordinarily expensive. A suitable home with enough room for our basic needs, our Torah library and our work can cost approximately:
depending upon its size, condition and location.
Even reaching the initial capital necessary to purchase such a home is far beyond our present means.
We have therefore reached a point where we must do something that is not easy:
Ask for help.
We cannot pretend that a few small contributions alone will purchase a home costing millions of shekels. A project of this magnitude may ultimately require one or more people with the means and desire to make an extraordinary, transformational contribution.
Perhaps someone reading this page will be such a person. Perhaps many people will participate together.
We do not know how Hashem will open the door. We simply know that without taking the first step and sharing the dream, the possibility can never begin.

You do not have to be a major benefactor to become part of our story. Every sincere contribution moves us forward.

We do not want to tell you that a particular contribution is purchasing a particular brick, bookshelf or room.
Your contribution is helping us towards one goal: establishing a permanent home in Jerusalem.

A home in Jerusalem costing several million shekels cannot realistically be funded through small contributions alone.
We therefore want to speak openly to those who have been blessed with the ability to give substantially.
Perhaps you could help with ₪50,000. Perhaps ₪180,000. Perhaps ₪500,000 or ₪1,000,000.
Perhaps there is an individual, family or benefactor who could help us with an even greater portion of the amount required.
We do not know where the breakthrough will come from.
