Our Current Mikvah Package Offered as a Gift to Orphaned Kallot

If you are an orphan Kallah – even from one parent, we would be happy to offer you a free gift at the time of your marriage!

The packages that we give to our Kallot vary depending on items donated to us. We do not guarantee how much we will be able to give or how many Kallot we can assist each month.

Who qualifies?

Kallot living in Jerusalem and setting up home here who are orphaned from one or both parents. Preference is given to orphan Kallot. When we are able to help other Kallot, we assist converts too. Converts must have a certificate of conversion from an orthodox Beis Din.

How to obtain your free Kallah package.

In order to offer our package to legitimate Kallot in need, we ask the Kallah to provide the following details:

We ask for these details in order to make sure that our help is really going to those in need and who are indeed getting married.

  1. We work directly with the Kallah, not with any 3rd party.
  2. A letter from an orthodox rabbi who knows the Kallah’s story must be provided. The rabbi’s letter must be typed so that it is legible, on professional letterhead. It can be in English or Hebrew. If in Hebrew it must be easy to understand. The letter must include the date of the wedding and the date of Yahrtzeit of the parent(s) who has/have left this world and where they are buried. The letter must include the rabbi’s signature and rabbinical stamp on the letter and contactable details (telephone number / address etc.) The rabbi must be available to take calls.
  3. We need a copy of the Teudat Zehut of the orphan Kallah.
  4. The Kallah must send this to us as an attachment via email, together with a paragraph of her situation, and what her future needs will be. Sometimes we have additional items that may be of special benefit to the Kallah. We would like to include these if we can.
  5. The Kallah must provide a copy of her wedding invitation and certificate from the Rabbanut that they are marrying.
  6. Once processed, the Kallah will be given an appointment to collect her gift. It is up to the Kallah to find her way here and to arrive on time.
Our office hours are 9am – 6pm Sunday – Thursday, except for Chagim or Fast Days. We cannot make exceptions to these times.
If a Kallah is unable to keep her appointment she needs to contact us within 24 hours to enable us to book other appointments.
  7. Gifts can be kept for a maximum of 1 week. If a Kallah does not collect her gift it will go to the next Kallah. Please understand that we do not have storage space.
  8. When collecting the gift, the Kallah must be prepared to be photographed with the gift. Kallah must provide a “thank you” letter which can be written in advance or when with us. As with photographs, the “thank you” letters are used to show to potential donors who are more likely to give in the future, enabling us to help further Kallot and to grow our project. If you feel the gift is valuable to you – it is because of donors who help us to help you. When they see the work we do, they are inclined to give further – so that others, just like you, can benefit from this package. The letter and photograph all go towards showing that what we do is legitimate.

As a Note

This work is done in the merit of Shoshanah’s father Nathan Gershon ben Nathan who was born an orphan and died when Shoshanah was still at school. The conditions are in place to ensure that we help the right Kallot, and to help others, giving legitimacy to what we do. I know what it is to be without a parent and know too that whenever I have needed help I have done whatever was required of me. Receiving help should not be in any way embarrassing but rather to be understood as the constant give and take of life.

We want to help you. Please help us – so that we can help you more!
