Torah Lessons Online and In-Person

Torah is not meant to remain on the page.

It is meant to be understood, lived, and allowed to shape the way a person thinks, grows, and walks through the world.

I offer Torah learning for those who want more than inspiration alone — for those who want to learn Torah from the inside, directly from the sources, with clarity, depth, and relevance to real life.

Our learning is thoughtful and unhurried. We take the time to read the text carefully, understand its language, uncover its structure, and explore what it is truly teaching. Whether we are learning Chumash, Mishnah, Gemara, Halachah, or works of machshavah, mussar, or even Kabbalah, the goal is the same:

to build real understanding and a living connection to Torah.

Each student comes with their own background, questions, pace, and goals. The learning is shaped accordingly — not rushed, not forced, and never superficial. Torah is approached with seriousness, warmth, and respect, allowing it to illuminate both the mind and the heart.

Whether you are strengthening foundations, deepening existing knowledge, or returning to learning after time away, you are invited into a space where Torah is engaged with honesty, skill, and care — and where growth happens naturally, step by step.

Our learning is centered on the original Torah texts. We study directly from the sources, reading carefully and working through the words, structure, and ideas together. This is not a lecture-only format; it is shared learning, with space to ask, think, clarify, and engage.

A strong emphasis is placed on building skills — especially reading, understanding, and translating Hebrew (and Aramaic where relevant). Over time, students gain confidence in approaching texts on their own, with greater clarity and independence.

Each session is prepared with care. Source sheets may be created when helpful, and the learning is tailored to the student’s background, goals, and interests. Some students come to strengthen foundations, others to deepen existing knowledge, and others to explore specific areas of Torah that speak to their current stage in life.

The pace of learning is guided by you. We take the time needed to understand each concept properly, without pressure to rush or “cover material.” Torah is meant to be absorbed, not skimmed.

Learning can take place one-on-one or in a small group, either in person (in Jerusalem) or online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Online learning is face-to-face and interactive, allowing for meaningful engagement even at a distance.

Above all, the atmosphere is one of respect, focus, and positive exchange. Torah learning should be alive and stimulating. Questions are welcome, insights are explored, and the learning itself becomes a shared journey of growth.

This learning is best suited for those who value serious, consistent engagement with Torah and are looking for a meaningful, ongoing learning relationship.

It is especially well suited for people who:

  • Want to learn directly from Torah sources, rather than summaries alone
  • Appreciate thoughtful, text-based study with time for questions and clarification
  • Are willing to prepare, focus, and show up consistently
  • Value clarity, structure, and steady growth over quick answers
  • Are interested in applying Torah wisdom to real life in a grounded and authentic way

Students come from a wide range of backgrounds — some with strong foundations, others rebuilding or beginning anew. What matters most is not where you are starting from, but your commitment to learning with sincerity and respect.

This framework works best for those who see Torah learning as a priority they are willing to invest in — with time, attention, and presence. When these elements are in place, the learning becomes deep, rewarding, and transformative.

If you are looking for something casual, irregular, or purely conversational, this may not be the right setting. But if you are seeking a stable, thoughtful space for genuine Torah growth, you are warmly welcome.

Torah learning sessions are available in person in Jerusalem or online for students anywhere in the world. Online sessions take place via Zoom or Microsoft Teams and are fully interactive, face-to-face learning experiences.

Sessions are typically scheduled for approximately one hour, though other session lengths can be arranged by prior agreement. Learning may be one-on-one or in a small group (up to ten participants if you have friends who wish to learn together in the same shiur).

Scheduling is flexible and coordinated in advance to suit your availability as much as possible. Regular weekly learning is encouraged, as consistency greatly enhances depth and progress, though once-off sessions are also available.

Learning is offered on a professional basis, with time reserved and preparation done specifically for each session. For this reason, sessions are booked in advance and confirmed through payment prior to the scheduled time.

Payment methods are available for students in Israel and overseas, and prices are quoted in Israeli Shekels (₪). Additional details regarding payment methods, cancellations, and policies are outlined below to ensure clarity and fairness for all involved.

To ensure that learning sessions are meaningful, respectful, and sustainable, the following policies apply to all students. These are not meant to be restrictive, but to provide clarity and fairness for everyone involved.

Payment

  • Regular students are asked to pay monthly in advance, at the beginning of each month
  • Once-off sessions must be paid for at least 24 hours in advance to reserve the time slot.
  • Sessions are considered confirmed only once payment has been received.

Time for learning is reserved specifically for you, and preparation is done in advance. For this reason, sessions cannot be held without prior payment.

Session Length

Sessions are usually booked by the hour. If a shorter or non-standard session length is requested (such as 30 or 40 minutes, or longer than an hour), the rate is not calculated as a simple fraction of the hourly fee. Preparation time remains the same regardless of session length. Please ask in advance for the exact cost of alternative formats.

Cancellations

  • Sessions must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Sessions scheduled immediately after Shabbat or a festival must be cancelled at least 72 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations made outside these timeframes are charged in full.
  • Arriving late does not entitle the student to extended time or a make-up session.

Missed Sessions and Emergencies

I understand that genuine emergencies can occur. At the same time, when a session is missed, the reserved time and preparation cannot be recovered.

  • In the case of a missed session due to a genuine emergency, 50% of the session fee will be charged.
  • This is not a penalty, but a partial contribution toward the time and preparation already invested.

An emergency refers to a serious, unexpected situation requiring immediate attention. Other situations fall under the standard cancellation policy above.

Discounts

Students who receive discounted rates due to financial difficulty are expected to pay the full standard rate if a session is missed without proper cancellation.

Please do not request discounts. The rate reflects the time, preparation, and responsibility involved in professional Torah teaching, and helps maintain the dignity of the learning and the teacher.

Format and Participation

  • Learning takes place online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, or in person in Jerusalem, as arranged in advance.
  • Each session is either private or group-based, as agreed upon beforehand.
  • Private sessions are reserved for the registered student only. Additional participants must arrange participation and payment in advance.

Personal Boundaries

Sessions are dedicated exclusively to Torah learning. Questions of Torah outlook and hashkafah may be addressed within the framework of the learning itself. Personal inquiries unrelated to the learning are not part of the session. Those wishing to discuss their own personal goals with a direction to overcoming challenges in their own lives are welcome to book a private coaching session with me. This is unrelated to the Torah learning we do in these Torah learning sessions.

While learning sessions themselves are paid, preparing them requires additional time and ongoing dedication. If you would like to support Rav Eliyahu’s Torah work beyond your scheduled learning — particularly if you are learning at a discounted rate — contributions can be made through the same payment channels used for sessions.

Such support helps enable more time for teaching, learning, and making Torah accessible with care and depth. Every contribution, large or small, is sincerely appreciated and helps sustain this work.

Final Note

Please take the time to read and understand the above information carefully. By booking Torah learning sessions, you indicate that you accept these policies and the framework within which the learning takes place.

These guidelines are in place to ensure clarity, fairness, and mutual respect, allowing the focus of our time together to remain where it belongs — on meaningful Torah learning.

Thank you for your interest, your commitment, and your support.

Eliyahu
