Barmitzvah Lessons – Online and In-Person

🎉 Mazal Tov! Your son is about to reach one of the most important milestones in Jewish life – his Bar Mitzvah! At 13, he becomes fully responsible for mitzvot and takes his first steps as a Jewish adult.

This is an exciting time, full of new responsibilities, learning, and opportunities to grow in Jewish identity and love for Torah.

Mazal Tov! It’s your Barmitzvah – or – it’s your son’s Barmitzvah!

Before age 13, a Jewish boy learns by example – seeing his family keep Shabbat, eat kosher, give charity, wear Tefillin, and study Torah.

At 13, it’s no longer just about watching – it’s about doing for himself. Proper preparation ensures he can confidently take his first steps as a full participant in Jewish life, fulfilling mitzvot on his own.

Starting around age 12, boys begin their Bar Mitzvah preparation, just as a child rehearses for a recital or school play. This early preparation builds skills, confidence, and excitement for the big day. Of course preparation should begin from the time one is born… but things begin to heat up as one draws closer to the age of 12.

Every child’s journey is unique, but lessons typically include:

  • Tefillin: How to wear and understand them
  • Shabbat & Kashrut: Practical observance guidance
  • Torah Portion & Haftorah: Reading, chanting, and understanding his weekly portion
  • Jewish Values: Fundamentals of Torah, mitzvot, and character development
  • Love for Learning: Helping your son enjoy and connect with his Jewish identity

Lessons are tailored to your son’s pace, interests, and family customs, making learning meaningful and enjoyable.

  • In-person: Jerusalem area
  • Online: Zoom with Webcam for live interactive learning
  • Flexible Scheduling: Weekly sessions or as suits your family
  • Personalized Guidance: Focused on your child’s needs and learning style

Whether your son is preparing for his Aliyah in Shul or wants to explore Jewish fundamentals alongside his secular studies, I will guide him step by step.

The party is a joyful expression of the milestone, but the real achievement is in preparation, understanding, and personal growth. Learning the Torah portion, preparing to wear Tefillin, and exploring the meaning of mitzvot will stay with him for a lifetime.

I’m here to make the Bar Mitzvah journey smooth, meaningful, and inspiring.
