THE MIKVAH PROJECT - "Purity with Dignity"
A Project Designed to bring Purity to Jewish Homes & Families - with Dignity
|
A Mikvah is a natural body of water. It is built in accordance with the laws and measurements provided by the Torah.
By Jewish law, all married women are required to visit a Mikvah once a month in the normal course of daily life. Because of the costs in building a Mikvah (literally hundreds of thousands of dollars!) and the costs in the upkeep (cleaning, attending to problems, checking the status to make certain it is continually Kosher etc.) there is a charge to all women who use a Mikvah. The common idea that women may immerse for free because it is a Mitzvah - is a fallacy! Not only are there general upkeep costs, but each time a woman visits a Mikvah, she will be provided with soap, shampoo, various cosmetics etc., all there to help her in making her experience at the Mikvah an enjoyable one - as it should be. Unfortunately, due to the financial difficulties experienced by so many today, the cost of going to the Mikvah can be quite expensive for many. The Mikvah Project - now a part of the Bayit Chadash - Wedding Project - is all about helping couples struggling financially to be able to fulfil this foundation Mitzvah of Torah - without the financial stress involved. ANY Jewish woman who is unable to afford the general cost of visiting the Mikvah once a month, will indeed be able to immerse at no cost at all. We ourselves will be paying for her. Our project is currently operating in Beitar Illit and in a few locations in Jerusalem - Israel. We encourage everyone to take part in this very holy project. The rewards for this Mitzvah are literally infinite! For more on the project see: Click image below for larger image
